Individual counseling
You may approach me with a specific problem or a specific assignment concerning all areas of life: work, relationships, family, grief, creative issues, depression, worries, psychosomatic issues. However, I would refrain from clinical findings such as severe depression, suicidal tendencies, severe trauma, etc.
During a consultation session (60min) we analyze your current situation via conversation and manifest your wish for change. As a counselor, I use specific questions to gain insight into your life, your mindset and social systems before we work together to develop new perspectives and possible solutions. And maybe overthrow one or the other of these old belief systemy of yours.
In the end, you as the client should be able to move forward resonsibly or at least have attained clarity about your situation so that you can take further steps in the future. In any case, the aim is to increase the client’s autonomy.
Group counseling
Are you a team, a company, an editorial team, colleagues, friends or even a class? Are you an association of people who need outside advice to change up their internal climate or simply to strengthen their constellation? Or even fundamentally question it? I can offer supervision of group dynamics and/or create specific workshops for the team – including individual counseling with team members and managers.
Couples Counseling
Do you consider yourself a couple, regardless of your couple philosophy or orientation? Do you want to better understand the dynamics of your situation, change something about your communication, reinvent yourselves or find your way back to old values? Are you wondering which form of relationship is best for you? Do you want to break up or save your love? Do you want to move closer together or do you need a little more distance? Do you want to examine your dependencies or simply take stock and see what has gotten you through the years? Have you been together for decades or just a few months? I offer couples sessions that last up to 90 minutes (depending on the agreement) and aim to continuously work on the relationship and, if necessary, also offer individual sessions for the relevant party.
Philosophy
As a counsellor, I cannot solve your problems alone, however I can help you to recognize your current processes and initiate new ones. My work is a resource-oriented and appreciative, I focus on existing strengths, not on deficits. You will likely exit each session with a better feeling than upon entry. I always remain authentic, if I can’t understand something, I will ask questions and you will also occasionally notice if I am moved, surprised or confused.
Every consultation is 100% individual and tailored to you as a client, there are no absolute analyses or tips that do not bring as many of your life circumstances and social systems into the equation as possible. Your goals may even change over the course of the consultation, however this is not a problem but normality. Our common goals will always be specific, measurable and realistic – and of course ethical.
2023 I published a book about the grieving process („Anleitung zum Traurigsein“, Dumont), inspired by the loss my daughter to cancer in 2019. The book contains my personal journey through stages of coping and healing and also features outlooks on health, fitness, nutrition and Buddhist philsophy. It is designed to help other peopla dealing with loss, sadness and grief in any shape or form.
